Agency Study

Target group
The agency study will survey a variety of organizations working with children and young people that have been the victims of sexual abuse. In other words, child protection and victim counseling organizations, counseling centers for children and young people, as well as institutions under public law that are officially charged with child welfare.

Objectives
The objective of the agency study is to gain an overview of existing offers for children and young people affected by sexual abuse. The organizations will also be asked about the number of cases supported each year and collaboration between organizations. The parallel survey of organizations and students will help us to estimate the number of unreported cases of sexual abuse against young people. It will also help us to identify deficiencies in existing offers and come up with suggestions for improvement. 

Conducting the study
The first stage will involve the nationwide identification of all contact points for children and young people who have experienced some form of victimization. These organizations will then be surveyed during the second phase. The survey is scheduled to take place between the spring and summer of 2010.
