The Optimus Study

The Optimus study is a multinational research project on victim experiences among children and young people with a special focus on sexual assaults.

Sexual assaults against children and young people are unfortunately not rare, and the consequences are often very serious. This subject therefore deserves to have a high priority among all career groups and politicians involved, as well as in the consciousness of the public.

Reliable data from representative studies are urgently needed. This is because promising measures for prevention and intervention can only be developed once a better understanding of the risks and protection factors surrounding sexual assaults has been achieved.
