Optimus Study China Brochure and Full Report Now Available
The first phase of the Optimus Study China has been completed. The goal of this phase was to gain greater insight into the scope and consequences of child abuse in China. For this matter, epidemiological data (population survey) were collected in Shanghai, Wuhan, Xian, Tianjin, Shenzhen and Hong Kong. It is the most comprehensive survey conducted to date around this topic in China. A research team at the University of Hong Kong conducted the population survey in schools and households and interviewed 18,000 students, 9,000 parents and 3,300 adolescents about their experiences with sexual victimization.
The most important results of this census may now be downloaded in the form of a brochure available in English. The brochure outlines the key findings of the Optimus Study China and strongly suggests a need to allocate resources to detect and prevent further abuse in health care settings in China.
The final scientific report of the Optimus Study China is now available for download as well. The report is available in English and provides a detailed discussion of all the results of the student, household and organization surveys in China.
